Storyboard Task (OTS)

Within the group, we decided to plan our opening title sequence by creating a storyboard which we all had input in but Adam Anderson was the one who drew it - this is a rough idea of the final plot but we will base our final production around this. Powered by emaze

Ident Soundtrack

Ident Soundtrack for ISHBANDAM Productions:

This is the track I have selected for our Ident. The track is upbeat and fast at the start giving it a good effect on an ident. The track however will need to be cut down and slowed down so the first part of the track can be selected and used and placed over the ident. This will be done in the final cut and edited onto the ident.

This is the non-diegetic element of our soundtrack. This will combined with the diegetic recordings of dialogue, heat breathing and reactive gasps recorded during filming.

Mise-En-Scene (OTS)

It is very important to use representation effectively so that the audience can understand our meaning: we are going to use symbolic visual codes, iconic imagery and combine this with familiar objects used in a threatening way.

The props used in our OTS Task

For the symbolic visual code to represent the realism of violence, we decided to use a gun which is a very common prop used in film noir films as this gives the effect of tension, power and authority.

Originally we decided to use cable ties as it made it seem a lot more realistic when representing the hostage situation but it was not accessible at the time. As an alternative, we used a piece of string as this gave it an appropriate effect for the hostages' state.

We used a sandwich bag as one of the props for our OTS task in order to imitate a DNA bag in which detectives use - this will give it more of a suspense to the audience and is used for an enigma etc. what happened? Why was it left at the crime scene? ...

In order to have a sensible and practical scene, black gloves would be worn by the criminal so that it resembles a generic criminal.

Film Certificates (OTS)

As our film will include violent scenes int needs to have a reasonably high film certificate. When researching the different film certificates on the "British Board Of Film Certificates" if found that the 18 certificate may be the correct certificate for our film. I feel that as our film will include murderer and mild torture that it should only be appropriate for adults. The opening title sequence will include a hostage scene and may be unsuitable for people under 18, However during my research I also found that the 15 certificate may also work for the film but as the actual film may include more scenes that could be distressing to the viewer we decided 18 would be the best solution and people under 18 might not find the film interesting to watch.

18 works are for adults and can contain strong issues such as:
  •   very strong violence
  •   frequent strong language (e.g. 'f***') and / or very strong language (e.g. ‘c***’)
  •   strong portrayals of sexual activity
  •   scenes of sexual violence
  •   strong horror
  •   strong blood and gore
  •   real sex (in some circumstances)
  •   discriminatory language and behaviours
Though 18 films and videos may cover difficult and strong subjects and themes, harm is still a consideration. Very dangerous or criminal behaviour (for example, behaviours which if copied poses a credible harm risk) may be cut.
